Where can I find review on different work boots? I am looking for some work boots for my father. He is up and down a lot all day, being a mechanic, and goes through them like he does underwear. I need to find him some good, strong boots that will be comfortable, he works up to 16 hours a day, and yet last a while. He doesn't wear steel toed boots, though. Any ideas? It seems like he's tried them all.
how do you keep leather work boots from smelling so bad? I dry them with a boot dryer every night and at the end of the work day when I take them off they are intolerable. I dont have smelly feet and yes I shower and wash my feet every day. My other shoes dont do this. Just my leather work boots.

Is it OK to wear knee high boots with a skirt to work at an office? Obviously it's not a short skirt, it goes down to my knees and the boots go a little below the knees. I wear this almost anywhere else, I'm just not sure if it's apropriate for the office. I'm young and I work with a lot of older people so I've never seen anyone else here wear them. Only answer if you actually know something about working in an office. I realize maybe the type of boots make a difference. The ones I have are not very high, about 2 inches and they have more of a square toe not pointy.
Know of any good work boots for a farm? I am currently a student in a veterinary technology program. We will soon be working with large animals (cows, horses, sheep, etc.) and I need to find a good pair of women's work boots that are good for working in this environment. They have to be hard-soled, and the tread shouldn't be too deep so that they aren't hard to clean. I just have never bought this type of shoe before, so I don't know of any brands to look at that are known for comfort and durability (also not getting my toes crunched by a cow would be cool). Also some good non-denim (khaki) pants are needed. Thanks for your suggestions!
Can you claim for buying your own work boots and clothes? Can your empoyer force you to wear boots to work without helping financially? I work for a certain parcel service that tells all of it's employees that everyone needs to purchase work shoes. The definition they give for a workshoe is non-slip sole, leather upper, sturdy, and no holes or rips.(this is what is says in our contract). This definition defines more shoes than just a boot.So I wear tennis shoes to work, and I get harrased by management. If it said in the contract that everyone had to wear boots then I believe they would have to pay something to help all the employees financially, because it would fall under "uniform",because they are specifically saying that you have to wear one style of shoe.
Where can I find a decent selection of fake-leather cowboy boots or fake-leather work boots? I've seen them on eBay, but I want to find a retailer or even a manufacturer. Do any of the big companies (like Justin or Tony Lama) make boots for adults that are all man-made materials? I've seen them on eBay, but I want to find a retailer or even a manufacturer. Do any of the big companies (like Justin or Tony Lama) make boots for adults that are all man-made materials? [edit] I appreciate everyone's input so far, but please just answer the question that I asked. Thank you.

Is it OK for women to wear work boots as a fashion statement? I just bought a pair of work boots- on sale, LOVE them. I personally think they're super cute and look hot with jeans. My question is, is it OK/cute/sexy for women to wear work boots as a fashion statement? Also, what should they wear them with besides jeans? Or, are they only "supposed" to be worn with jeans? What type of tops? Sweat shirts? Sweaters? Henleys? I have NO idea what to wear these boots with- I love them though, LOL. I need help! :)
Where can I find some decent low-priced work boots? I have a pair of Caterpillar boots that I got at Wal-Mart 5-10 years ago. However they are no longer as cheap as they were back then and are over $100.00, which is more than I want to spend. Any suggestions?

How helpful are the people who work in boots etc? i want help with buying make up and stuff in boots but i never see shop assistants in that area of the shop and its really annoying because they ignore all the young people like me who are willing to spend money Only ONCE have i seen a shop assistant helpig a woman, i wasnt in boots, it was a privately owned pharmacy and she fobbed off the woman with pointless make up!! so, how do you rate the shop assistants in pharmacys and places like that? do you find them helpful?
Has anyone ever work Russian Valenki boots? I have a friend who wants to get me a pair of Russian valenki boots for my birthday. They are felt and you can wear rubber shoes over the boots to keep out wetness. He says they are warm and excellent shoes but I don't want him spending the money if they are not comfortable and I don't know anyone who has ever worn them. Can anyone give me any insight into them? Thanks Ok, obviously I meant "wore Russian Valenki boots". Type o. Sorry.
Are tall boots too sexy for work? I admit I like the look of tall boots, so I'm thinking of getting some for my wife. She normally wears pants but is willing to try new things. Are tall boots/skirt considered too sexy for work, and if not, is there a good skirt/boot combination you can recommend? BTW, I'm not talking about knee high boots. I know that's over the top for work. I do know she's not into uncomfortable heels.

Tax Deduction question for work boots and tools? I have to buy new steel toe boots for work in refineries. Is this deductable and how do I go about making it tax deductable if it is? While I am at it, would it be in my best interest to buy some tools for the job? What if they might not be used on the job too much? If I can make it look like that, it wouldn't matter would it? Write offs are a very new thing for me. I am making plenty at the refinery gig, so I lots of federal withholding on my taxes. I am basically asking: how can I get this back? thanks
