Work and Wear Online

I am interviewing for a financial analyst job at General Motors. Should I wear a suit or business casual?

I am a 45 year old mid career worker. Should I wear a suit, sport jacket, or just nice business casual wear for the interview.

  1. I would think a suit is appropriate for a white-collar job interview.
  2. suit. Overdressing isn't a problem. Underdressing is a problem. Do you know how they dress for this job? Dress nicer than them if you want to impress them.
  3. Suit. Conservative business suit, Gray or navy (or closest to it you have) , white shirt, dress shoes, (shined) and conservative tie. Bets of luck to you. Post us and let us know you got the job!!!!!!! Look like a pro, dress like a pro and be treated like a pro.
  4. Here is the thing. When interviewing for a job you should always wear a suit. When working in a job you should dress one level above what is recomended. So if the job is business casual than you should wear a suit without the jacket.
  5. Suit without a doubt. Dress to impress
  6. Suit - Guys have it easy
  7. always dress your best for interview, make a good impression
  8. A suit by all means!
  9. if you have a suit you should wear them , and depending of the weather there in your place. if it is the industry practice to wear a suit then you should be wearing them.... in india for middle management position , only ties are worn, whereas in Middle east , it is a must to wear a suit.. always remember that you should be very comfortable in them.. No for sports jacket for GM.. dont be thinking about your dress too much ..once u enter your interview hall...it is your prepared ness for the functionality and your intelligence that matters most ... All the best for your interview..
  10. The financial world is usually pretty conservative so you would fit right in wearing a suit.Cannot go wrong..you would only make a great impression.Dress for success!!! And good luck!
  11. Opinion of a former hiring manager - wear a suit. I suggest getting some help with your career.....In the past I have recommended www.learntosucceed.biz to help. They offer sound advice, very affordable and their CDs come with free “live help” personalized for your questions. Good Luck.
